Mylerun ("we," "us," or "our") is a running app that combines territory-based game features and race competition with real-world running activity. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Mylerun, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

2. Data We Collect

Account Information

Your name (display name), email address, and authentication details when you create an account or sign in with Google.

Location and GPS Data

During active runs, we collect real-time GPS location data to track your route, measure distance, capture territory (turf zones), and record race performance. GPS tracking is active only while a run is in progress and is not continuously monitored in the background.

Running Statistics

Distance, duration, pace, elevation, route path, coins earned, and territory claimed for each run session.

Profile and Preferences

Your display name, bio, city, preferred run time, squad membership, cosmetic selections, and app settings such as theme and notification preferences.

Device Information

Basic device information such as device type, operating system, and app version to ensure compatibility and improve performance.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Personalizing your experience, including your profile, display name, and cosmetic loadout.
  • Powering game mechanics such as turf zone capture, territory ownership, and ghost races.
  • Recording and displaying race timing, race results, and bib information.
  • Generating leaderboards and competitive rankings based on your running activity.
  • Enabling social features such as squads, challenges, and messaging with other players.
  • Sending notifications about nearby rivals, turf invasions, race schedules, and game events.
  • Analyzing usage patterns to improve app features, fix bugs, and prevent cheating.
  • Improving the realism of non-player opponents (bots) using route geometry you draw in the Route Planner, but only if you opt in. No identity is stored with shared routes — only the geographic shape of the path.

4. How Your Data Is Shared

Your run data — including distance, time, route, and territory claimed — is shared with other Mylerun users as part of the game's core features. Other players can see your turf zones on the map, your race results and finish times, and your leaderboard standings. Your display name appears on territories you own, race bibs, and leaderboard entries. Your precise real-time location is not shared with other users; only the geographic areas (turf zones) you have claimed are visible.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on our cloud infrastructure. We use encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest to protect your information. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel and systems. While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Third-Party Services

Mylerun integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Map Services: We use mapping providers to display territory zones, routes, and navigation. Map tile providers may receive approximate location data to render maps.
  • Authentication: We use Google OAuth for optional sign-in. Google receives your authentication request but does not share your password with us.
  • Payment Processing: In-app purchases are processed through secure payment providers. We do not store your full payment card details.

These third parties have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: You can view your profile data, run history, and registrations within the app at any time.
  • Edit: You can update your display name, bio, city, and preferences through your profile settings. Name changes are free and unlimited.
  • Delete: You can delete your account through the app's profile settings, which will remove your personal data and associated records.
  • Opt Out: You can disable notifications, switch to Pro/serious mode to reduce social game features, or stop using GPS-based features by not starting runs.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data and associated records within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

9. Children's Privacy

Mylerun is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes within the app. Your continued use of Mylerun after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
